Dead Reckoning (Inertial navigation) is definition of the position of the object according to its movement parameters.

To determine the movement parameters, sensors such as the mileage meter (odometer), a gyroscope that shows the deviation from the initial position, and an accelerometer that shows the magnitude of the acceleration acting on the moving object are usually used.
